The summer is coming, with that I thought that thick aluminum Race Trim valve covers would help keep the engine cool. Plus they look cool.
I purchased these from AirCooled Vintage Works, they have super fast shipping and great prices. These went on easy, they included all the parts you need, including the cork valve covers, o rings, nuts and bolts.
The old chrome Empi ones are shown below.
The new ones are heavier and thicker.
Now you can see, I over tightened the one bolt and smooshed the rubber o ring. My bad.
I just used one of the old ones and it is fine for now. I’ll see if I can find some replacement ones.
