Continuing to work on the hot start issue I decided to replace the ground strap on the battery, the transmission and the positive cable. It couldn’t hurt? I cleaned all surfaces with a wire brush and used dialectric grease on the connections.
Old Battery wires.

Cleaning up the mating surface and using dialectric grease here.

The positive wire from the battery goes directly to the starter.

All done in the battery area below.

The chassis ground was gross and almost falling off.

New one installed.

A ramp makes this easier, but I think you could do it on your back. Did any of this solve my starting problem? No… but it was good maintenance to get done.
