A Baja Bug and a Manx Buggy Walk into….

Driving into town the other day I spotted two VW buggies. Of course we chatted and set up a ride. These two rad guys Jack and Bill from Colorado ran Hells Revenge and other burly trails in their dune buggy. I cruised Behind the Rocks with them the next day.

Let’s talk about Bills rig. It is a 69 with a 2276 motor. tons of custom work and has been in his family since the 80s. He took it over and put in a ton of amazing fixes. Look at that tube work!

It has VW Thing spindles in the front giving it a 3″ lift.

The rear is a 002 bus trans which can handle the power of the 2.2L motor.

And this was cool for me to see, I didn’t know you could put this on a 1600, a modern filter. Empi and CB performance make them.

So if you see a beetle, go say hi! You might go for a fun ride.

At one point Bill passed me and dropped the hammer. I need a Manx style buggy now.
