The 66 and prior VW beetle did not come with emergency flashers/hazard lights. This was apparent when it broke down on me the other day. I went down a rabbit hole of options and went for Baja Deaign Rock Lights because they are low power LEDs and they include a curved mount that would fit on my roof rack.
Because I swapped from the Hella to the KC lights on the roof I had an empty port on my roof connector box. I just had to remember how I wired it up.
Ok the next step was a lot of soldering, when that was done I attached it to the rack and it all worked. Because I am using the Spod I can run them in steady as dust lights, flash or strobe.
