Safety third is not my motto. After I bought my baja an even before it arrived I bought a set of 3-point seat belts from J-Bugs. Well that was almost a year ago to the day. I decided it was time to install them. Why not right away? At some point in my beetles life the interior was redone and the seat belt mounting holes were covered up.

To find the holes I literally felt around for a dimple, then put a push pin in to verify the hole.
Then I cut the bolt hole with an X-Acto knife.
I had a heck of time getting the lower seat belt bracket in, because I have some incredibly comfortable seats on homemade brackets from the previous owner. So that probably added an hour or two to the whole process.
