Like most baja bug owners I have two different size wheels and tires, so there is no easy answer for a spare tire. I stopped by Cruise Moab this year and saw the ARB compressor in a case. It seemed like it would work, but the box is big. Which took me down a rabbit hole of looking for on board compressors, cheap ones, expensive ones, etc. I had been carrying a Glue Tread tire repair kit and a can of Fix a Flat, so this would end up replacing the canned air. After bouncing some ideas of a buddy he found the ARB compressor from Four Wheel Parts that was in the old case not the new pelican case on sale for $299. This is cheapest setup I could find, it includes all the connectors, a hose, and schraeder valve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one is meant to be portable and go from car to car. Which seems like a great idea, but not for this application. I drilled out the rivets holding the pump in and looked for places to mount it. I decided to go for under the passenger seat. Which meant removing the seat and printing up a bracket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So these brackets allow me to get it on the right angle to clear the seat and allow the hose to mount. I might print another side if it looks to be moving front to back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I wired it to the sPod, reinstalled the seats and all done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how does it work? It works great, about 1 PSI in 30 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
