I was looking at why my baja is leaking oil by the full flow oil pump and stumbled on a JBugs listing for sand seals saying that it may be improper crank case venting. Replacing the breather filter is easy and I had a spare filter on hand.
My breather was a little worse for wear when I got it off.
Eh, it didn’t really look that dirty, so probably not the cause, but it fell apart during disassembly, so we are fully committed now.
The new one was not sliding on, so I heated it up with my little heat gun and then put everything back together.
Last thing worth mentioning it has a 2″ opening, I will order a K&N or UNI one to replace it. this EMPI 8541 was hard to find.
