My battery was 3 years old and during the dark times of a bad motor I ran it down… a lot. So with that I picked up an Odyssey AGM Group 41 ODY ODP-AGM96R . Interestingly it sits at 12.8v when off where the previous Super Start sat at 12.6v. Replacing a battery is the easy part, I finally got around to replacing the hold down strap, which was also easy. I thought my mount was mangled, but it was just a broken piece of the old hold down making it appear so.

Interestingly, the sticker on the Odyssey says 5/26, which is technically the future! OK, so the next step was to create a hold down. I used a 3′ NRS strap, I put a grommet in it and secured that to the threaded post.

Upon review, I think it might have made more sense to move the clamp to the backside of the battery, not the top. A project for another day.
