After replacing my battery recently I was not happy with how the battery area looked. So I cleaned it up and coated it with bed liner. Why bed liner? I know these areas are prone to rust so why not make it bombproof?

And I removed the passenger side heater channel since it was banged up and crusty. This baja has no heat exchangers and it won’t likely ever have them. If I needed heat I would have had to replace these parts anyhow.
Taping before sanding.

I think it looks way nicer now and should last a long time. While I was at it I replaced the body to pan bolts with new ones from JBugs.

I also added some little webbing pulls to the bench to make it easier to lift it up.

Hoping it will be good for another 60 years now.
