Greasing the Beetle Front Beam

I noticed some creaking when going over bumps so I consulted the Muir book, bought a grease gun and I am now creak free.

The front beam has a zerk (grease nipple) on both of the outer sides . Attach your grease gun and pump until some grease begins to come out of the seals like in the shot below.

When the grease starts to come out, it will make a “pop” noise. I go a few pumps more and then cleaned everything off.

Be sure to clean the zerks off before you begin. I got a grease gun and grease from Napa. Be sure to get one with a flexible hose to give you the flexibility (see what I did there?) to reach the nips. The grease gun is kind of an unwieldy tool to store.
