Adjusting The Valves

Well my buddy Brent said it was time for me to adjust the valves on the baja bug. Of course, you have to do that when the engine is room temperature. So I towed it to his place. Now, all VWs come with a tow bar when you buy them, so I just used that with some magnetic lights.

Look at this, the backup camera makes it super easy to hook it up.

OK, enough about towing. And this is not a how to, the internet is full of how to’s but I am stoked I did this.

And honestly, I’d watch a video again before I did this next year. One thing of note, the valve covers had rubber/synthetic seals which the internet either loves or hates. I replaced it with Wolfsburg West cork seals.

And check out Brent’s sweet baja.

I bought this SnapOn S5922 VW Valve wrench, eh.. it seems too big to me. But it did work, so there is that.
